Panorama “Siege of Sevastopol in 1854-1855” — a building of cylindrical form with a dome on Istorichesky Boulevard in Sevastopol, on the site of the former 4th bastion.
In this building in 1905, Franz Roubaud’s Panorama “The Assault on June 6” was opened; it was destroyed during the Great Patriotic War and recreated by the Soviet artists in 1954.
The exhibition presents a pictorial canvas of the Panorama “Defense of Sevastopol in 1854-1855”. In the exhibition hall there are reconstructed fragments of Roubaud’s panorama “Assault on June 6, 1855”, sketches for the panorama, pieces of uniform of the 19th century, samples of weapons, awards and lithographs.
At the exhibition, visitors can discover the history of the defense of Sevastopol during the Crimean War of 1853-1856, as well as learn about the history of the creation and reconstruction of the Panorama.
