Yevdokia Nikitichna Tryastsina (Postnykh) was born in the small village of Vayeshta, a few kilometers from the village of Russkiy Sars, Perm Krai. After high school graduation, she worked as a school math teacher for many years.
The repertoire of Yevdokia Tryastsina’s tales is extensive and unusually diverse. Among her tiresome tales, there are rare texts distinguished by a rich system of images, gentle humor and amusing contrasts. Animal tales are represented by plot types well-known in the Russian tradition. However, they have a number of features, including an abundance of clarifying details and pronounced didactic insertions. There are both atypical characters and songs in the texts.
Yevdokia Nikitichna’s skill was most clearly manifested in fairy tales — they are highly original. The storyteller skillfully combined the motifs characteristic of different plots in one text, and did not always strive to follow the rituals so beloved by storytellers of the past. There are also extremely rare plots and literary tales in her repertoire. The humorous talent of Yevdokia Tryastsina became evident in short stories and anecdotes.
