The Kalos Limen Historical and Archaeological Museum-Reserve is a cultural center and one of the main attractions in the Chernomorsky District. It houses a unique collection of ancient artifacts.
The museum’s exhibition presents the material,
cultural, and spiritual life of the people who inhabited the Tarkhankut
Peninsula in ancient times. It features amphorae, kantharoi, lekythoses, mortaria,
and louteria, as well as a bowl with traces of repair. Some of the unique
exhibits include fragments of ceramic vessels produced using the technique of
making imprints of relief, floral, and geometric patterns. There are also women’s
accessories such as a bead necklace or a bone handle for a bronze mirror. Other
highlights of the exhibition are terracotta figurines, altars, and a bas-relief
of Hercules. These artifacts not only provide information about the artistic
culture of the ancient Greeks but also offer insight into their worldview and
common religious practices.
Exhibits are marked with AR stickers for identification purposes.
