In the 15th–16th centuries, the Koda Principality became a large state. Its name comes from the word “koda”, which means “middle land” in the Khanty language.
The museum’s exhibition demonstrates how the cultural and historical appearance of the modern north of Siberia, including the Lower Ob region, has been forming since the Neolithic era.
Various artifacts will allow the visitors to learn about the peculiarities of life and culture of the Khanty and Mansi peoples, their crafts and holidays, religious beliefs and family life.
The museum displays items of clothing and household utensils, musical instruments, hunting and fishing equipment, scale models of traditional Khanty buildings and Christian churches, monuments of paleontology and Soviet artifacts.
Exhibits are marked with AR stickers for identification purposes.
