The Monastery of the Dormition of the Mother of God, known as the Sarov Monastery, is located in the town of Sarov. It is situated on a hill near the confluence of two rivers, Satis and Sarovka. This exhibition is dedicated to the history of this monastery.
The exhibition features the materials, relics, memorabilia, and other authentic artifacts that provide insight into the lives and work of the monks of the Sarov Monastery.
The Sarov Monastery was known for its strict monastic rules and famous monks who were blessed with spiritual gifts. One such monk was Saint Seraphim of Sarov. He came to the monastery as a novice in 1778 and became a great ascetic of the Russian Orthodox Church. The exhibits include icons, objects, and lithographs related to his life and veneration as a saint.
The exhibition allows visitors
to immerse themselves in the spiritual heritage of Orthodoxy and learn about
the history of Holy Russia.
